Wild about Flowers moved to Ash Tree Farm & Nursery in the Autumn of 2006, joining Stevie and Jenny Rogers at their established nursery. There, they grow unusual vegetable plants, coastal and drought tolerant plants, and an ever increasing range of plants beneficial to wildlife.
Wild about Flowers specialises in growing wildflowers suitable for garden use, many of which may be fairly rare in the wild but will quite happily grow in gardens given the right conditions. A lot of wildflowers are also important for wildlife, providing nectar for insects, butterflies and moths, seeds for birds and acting as food plants for the larvae of native butterflies and moths. The eggs are laid on very specific plants, according to the species, so providing these plants is very important for nature conservation. A visit to the nursery will see this form of conservation at work.
Also available are plants for woodland, meadows, pond and marginal plants and native trees and shrubs. Seeds can be supplied as mixes for specialised areas or in single species. Pam is also growing plugs of many varieties which are particularly useful for large scale planting, ideal for the landscaper.
The nursery is open on Sunday, and Wednesday every week, plus Bank Holidays, Other days are possible by arrangement – please phone first.
We can deliver plants if required, but there may be a delivery charge for smaller orders. We can also send bulbs and seeds by post. A larger scale mail order department is in the pipeline. |
